SPEECH: TOWARDS JUSTICE AND A FREE LIFE

Commemorating the Tragedy of Idi Cut (Arakundo) February 3, 1999 - February 3, 2025 Brothers and sisters, Today, we stand on a history full of wounds. The Tragedy of Idi Cut—Arakundoe—is a symbol of betrayal against humanity. 26 years have passed, yet the wound remains open. Not only in Acheh but also in Papua and Maluku, we witness the same pattern: oppression, confiscation, and violations of human rights. When a nation no longer protects its people, when justice becomes a weapon of oppression, then the only choice is to chart our own path. For Acheh, Maluku, and Papua, the most just solution is separation from Indonesia. For decades, we have been the victims of boundless exploitation, the plundering of natural resources, the destruction of culture, and the disregard for the dignity of our people. Enough is enough! We have a history, identity, and sovereignty that cannot continue to be taken away. Separation from Indonesia is not just a demand, but the path to freedom and a life ...

ARAKUNDOE OH ARAKUNDOE: Fighting Oblivion For Justice and Humanity

Image
ATAKANA TV – Yesterday, February 3, 2025, as part of the oppressed people of Acheh, we once again remember the dark tragedy that took place in Arakundoe, an event that became one of the symbols of serious Human Rights (HR) violations in the history of the Acheh conflict. This tragedy, although more than two decades have passed, still remains a deep wound for many, especially the families of the victims and the Achehnese diaspora who still have a sense of humanity. One form of this is remembering the Arakundoe tragedy. This tragedy occurred during the conflict when several civilians became victims of violence. The incident triggered by military actions around the Idi Cut sub-district military command office, which then led...
