SPEECH: TOWARDS JUSTICE AND A FREE LIFE

Commemorating the Tragedy of Idi Cut (Arakundo) February 3, 1999 - February 3, 2025 Brothers and sisters, Today, we stand on a history full of wounds. The Tragedy of Idi Cut—Arakundoe—is a symbol of betrayal against humanity. 26 years have passed, yet the wound remains open. Not only in Acheh but also in Papua and Maluku, we witness the same pattern: oppression, confiscation, and violations of human rights. When a nation no longer protects its people, when justice becomes a weapon of oppression, then the only choice is to chart our own path. For Acheh, Maluku, and Papua, the most just solution is separation from Indonesia. For decades, we have been the victims of boundless exploitation, the plundering of natural resources, the destruction of culture, and the disregard for the dignity of our people. Enough is enough!
